5 Christian books you should read right now

Purpose driven life

Pastor Rick Warren wrote this book as a ’40 day journey’ type of deal. You basically read a chapter a day, which is an easy 3-4 pages, for 40 days. This book is meant to help you discover God’s purpose for your life and features load of verses, real life experiences and ‘point to ponder’ for each day. It’s the first christian book I read and recommend it to everyone I know.

Mere christianity

C.S. Lewis wrote this book that is meant to be an apologetic for the Christian faith. You don’t necessarily have to be Christian to like this book so it can even be gifts to people of different faiths.

How to Understand and Apply the Old Testament: Twelve Steps from Exegesis to Theology

Jason DeRouchie wrote this for anyone that wants to properly understand and practice lessons from the old testament. It’s a very engaging book and basically disciples you along the chapters. A good read for anyone that tends to focus more on the New Testament.

Jesus Among Other Gods

Ravi Zacharias is an amazing writer and this book is great testimony to his skills. I admit I was kind of thrown off by the title and the cover of this book but contrary to what I thought, this is not about dissing any other religion. This book basically answers several questions from the perspectives of different religious leaders/prophets. It’s meant to highlight the fact that there are distinct differences in between different faiths.

The young Messiah

This book is such an easy read. This book is basically about the young Jesus at age seven. It sticks to scripture so it’s not a warped story by an account.
