Must-watch documentaries on Netflix

Second post this week! Miracles happen folks 🙂

I decided to make a list of my favorite documentaries because 1. I love lists 2. These will actually change your life (at least a little). So if you haven’t watched these yet, what are you doing with your life? Put down your assignments and go on Netflix (just kidding, stay in school!) but seriously, watch these!!

1. Minimalism: A documentary about the important things

This amazing documentary follows Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus from the minimalists, who explain the idea behind the lifestyle backed up with facts and stats. I honestly watch this anytime I need to get perspective on life, and you should too 🙂

2. The true cost

This documentary will make you (uncomfortably) aware of your role in making a stranger’s life a nightmare, and that’s the point. You can’t just choose to be ignorant and hope for the best. Our actions have consequences and this helps us make more conscious and better decisions.

3. The Secret

This has been around for quite some time now and it’s definitely worth watching. It’s about the law of attraction and even if you don’t believe in it, you’ll at least appreciate references to a positive attitude.

4. Cowspiracy

Sustainability is a favorite for documentaries and there’s so much that we still need to learn, this is a great start.

5. Forks over Knives

If health is at all important to you, watch this information packed documentary and start your own research.

6. Blackfish

Blackfish is an absolute classic and a total tear jerker.

“The story of Tilikum, a captive killer whale that has taken the lives of several people, underscores problems within the sea-park industry, man’s relationship to nature, and how little has been learned about these highly intelligent mammals.”

7. Cristina

Cristina (pictured above) battles cancer and urges everyone to live in the moment. Not only is she an amazing human and an absolute joy to watch, the way she lives life will teach you a lesson you’ll never forget.

8. Dear Zachary

Grab the kleenex, you’ll need the whole box.

“A filmmaker decides to memorialize a murdered friend when his friend’s ex-girlfriend announces she is expecting his son.”

Hope you liked this list, peeps. Have a productive binge!
